I have practiced law since 1995, concentrating in civil litigation, commercial litigation, municipal law, and appellate practice.
I graduated from Wabash College in 1991 where I received my Bachelor’s degree, Magna Cum Laude. I then attended the University of London where I received my Master’s degree in 1992. I then obtained my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois, Cum Laude in 1995.
A large portion of my practice is in the areas of commercial litigation, including all aspects of the Illinois Mechanics Lien Act, commercial and residential mortgage and judgment lien foreclosure, and appellate and Illinois Supreme Court litigation. I also represent court-appointed receivers in foreclosure matters and have experience serving as local counsel for out-of-town and out-of-state law firms seeking co-counsel representation throughout state and federal courts in Illinois.
I recently represented a client before the Illinois Supreme Court, securing a unanimous victory for an engineering firm, which clearly established lien rights for engineers under the Illinois Mechanics Lien Act.
I'm currently licensed to practice in all Illinois State Courts; U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois; U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois; U.S. District Court, Southern District of Illinois; and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Central, Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois.
